“The fishing is great, the prices are the best, the scenery is topped only by the homecooked meals. I come back every year."

The Alaskan Fishing Vacation of Your Dreams!

Father & Son shot fishing together

If you’ve dreamed of a magical Alaskan fishing vacation... far from civilization, an abundant clear river loaded with trophy salmon and arctic char just outside your private lodge, pristine wilderness as far as the eye can see, abundant wildlife, small groups, great food and guaranteed relaxation; this is it.

At Austin’s Golsovia River lodge, you’ll be fishing a beautiful clear stream on private land accessible only by boat. There are no other landowners, no roads, no airports. You're surrounded by BLM land and 40 miles from civilization. Fishing is a one minute leisurely walk from the lodge. Take your time, walk with your family or friends, try various flies and lures. When not fishing, there’s lots to do. Hike, kayak, watch wildlife and birds. Enjoy great home cooked meals; caribou, moose, ptarmigan, arctic hare, king crab, musk ox and of course fresh salmon you’ve just caught. Look forward to relaxation, magical solitude, nature, fun and incredible fishing! This is a soft adventure suitable for all ages and experience whether you fish or not.

Some of Alaska Finest Clear Stream Fishing

The rustic and comfortable Golsovia lodge sits only 300 yards from the river mouth and Norton Sound, a part of the Bering Sea. Abundant and large King, Pink, Silver and Chum salmon, fresh and feisty from the ocean, can be seen as they pass within an easy cast of your fly or lure. Arctic Char also call this pristine fishing paradise home. Daily catches exceeding 50 fish each is not uncommon during summer runs, (we practice catch & release after limits are taken). June through August is peak time for our piece of Alaskan paradise.

No other lodge in western Alaska offers this kind of all-inclusive, week-long trophy fishing adventure for under $2,500 each. And certainly few fishing guides can offer the outdoor tales and experience of Jerry Austin, Hall of Fame Inductee, to what has been called "The last great race on earth", the Iditarod Dog Sled Race.

Jerry Austin, Iditarod Hall of Fame ~ A lifetime of outdoor experience

Fishing picture

"This is the single most perfect river for flyfishing I've ever found."
Rolli Greer, New Jersey

Jerry and Clara Austin together have lived lifetimes of outdoor experience that most dream of. Jerry, who spent his early years hunting and fishing the Bitteroots of Idaho and Cascades of Washington migrated to St. Michael, Alaska as a young man. For over 30 years, Jerry has made the Alaskan outdoors his life - fishing, hunting and dog mushing.

The Charter Inductee to the Iditarod Hall of Fame, six Sportsmanship Trophies, and numerous 1st place finishes demonstrate Jerry’s expertise with dog sled racing and is a reflection of his love of the outdoors. The compelling real life stories Jerry can share will amaze and entertain you during your trip.

Clara, a Yupik Eskimo, native of the region, an accomplished musher and record holder, will cook delicious meals you’ll fondly remember.
